How can I check SIS Integration Progress

I'm contracting with a charter school and helping them through their SIS integration to Aspire. I know our CS person is trying, but the responses have been very slow and the director needs to plan PD, and to do that we need to know if they sync will be live.
I know about the "sync to sis" button when a teacher sets it up, and I've searched the community for other tells but haven't found a reliable indicator I can look for to know if the integration is in progress or complete.
Without going into too much detail - it's very difficult to tell from the courses that would sync. I did create a test course and don't see it, but they did tell us that new courses created might not sync while it was in progress.
Any tips or help greatly appreciated.
-As an aside all my research says Instructure MUST set up the sync with Aspire even if I've got working calls to Aspire API. Am I wrong?
