Studio Release Notes (2021-06-28)

In this Studio release (June 28),  the embed functionality for Studio media in the Canvas Rich Content Editor (RCE) has been updated, providing support for anonymous grading.

Studio is an online video platform that makes learning more impactful through active collaboration.  Learn more about Studio.

 Updated Features

Studio Media Embedding

Instructors and students can enable media tabs when embedding Studio media in the Rich Content Editor (RCE). By default, this option is turned off so only the Studio media is embedded in the RCE and the details, comments, insights, and captions tabs do not display.

This change provides support for anonymous assignment grading in Canvas. When the media tabs option remains off, student names are hidden in Canvas Studio assignment submissions. Instructors cannot view student names on the details media tab, which promotes anonymous grading.

Note: This option is not available for student submissions.
