I think the "restrict viewing of quantitative data" option may be exactly what you're looking for here.  The  How do I restrict the viewing of quantitative data... - Instructure Community - 580321  guide shows how to enable that and does list a couple caveats in the top blue box, but hopefully this will work for you!
