The Instructure Community will enter a read-only state on November 22, 2025 as we prepare to migrate to our new Community platform in early December. Read our blog post for more info about this change.
Hi @DanielBarwick,
It depends on where the teacher left the feedback but the answer might be yes.
If you review the How do I view the details of a submission for a student in SpeedGrader? - Instructure Community - 76... support article, it has a "Verify Student Annotation Views" section. In that section, if a student has viewed annotation feedback that was left in the SpeedGrader, there will be a reference displayed there underneath the submission date.
Another recommendation I have come across is:
If you add annotations using the DocViewer in Speedgrader, you can see when the students have opened and viewed your feedback [as I explained above]. There isn't a way to see if they have viewed comments left from the gradebook or under assignment comments. However, you can require them to respond to those comments as a way to verify they have viewed that feedback.

I hope you found this helpful.
