1. My canvas grading notifications don't seem to be working. I'm not being notified when a teacher grades or gives feedback on an assignment. The notifications are being sent to my school email address, and I think maybe that's the problem, but I'm not sure. Is there a way to send it to my personal email? I've tried clicking around but I haven't found anything where I can edit the email the notifications are being sent to. But maybe there's something I don't know... 2. Is there a way to manually clear grade notification badges? This one has been up for over a week now. (I've clicked the tab and reloaded several times, scrolling all the way up and down the page and reloading again.)

Yes that works. I was also able to manually type the answer (as long as it was syntactically identical to the option that was hidden so I just copied the hidden answer from a previous drop down and pasted it into the answer space.)

I'm on the last question of the test and there is one more option (which happens to be the correct answer in this case) in the dropdown menu that is hidden from view. If I were to describe it non-technically, it seems to be hiding under my windows toolbar at the bottom. I can't scroll any further either.

I've already emailed the software dept a while ago about another problem and they never responded and so in the end I had to call all of the other people on that list that might help me and it ended up being like a week before everything was fixed. I guess I was just wondering if there was a way I could submit a canvas ticket thing without having to go through all of that process but I guess there isn't another way which is kind of disappointing because it's not a bug that really limits my school work in any way if you know what I mean. The school is primarily worried about if the technology is allowing me to do my school or not, and in this case I can still do my school. But instead, I thought I would post an idea about it here to tell yall about it but then you told me to submit a ticket.

I have not reported it yet. I've never submitted anything to canvas support before, can you tell me what I need to do? Edit: I've read the Canvas guide for submitting a support ticket but my school has disabled the help menu. Is there any way I can submit a ticket without going through my school first?

So, I know that there are two ways to select content from an external app in the Rich Content Editor as a student. The first path (Tools > Apps > View All) works correctly. Path 1 But the second path (More > Apps) causes a layering problem where the menu still shows over the "All Apps" menu. Path 2 Layering problem after "Apps" is clicked from menu: Layering problem after "Apps" is clicked. A possible fix is to make the menu disappear when the "All Apps" menu comes up or possibly just make the menu go behind the "All Apps" menu.

I also think that there should be a dark mode in Canvas because students with loaner computers from their organization may block certain extensions that allow for dark mode.

FOLLOW UP: I was able to contact my school's software support and speak with them about this and they had no idea what was going on but after the phone call we had, I was clearing a couple of the apps and extensions and came across one that I had put on a couple of years ago called Adblock Plus. When I did some testing, I found out that it was blocking the description element as if it were an ad and our tech support thinks it has to do with a recent update on Chrome.

Hello! This is a student here with a small suggestion to add tooltips for the row of icons on the top of the Dashboard in ListView. This would be a small improvement but would allow the icons to be most effective. Here are some tooltip ideas for each:

It's not that I don't have access to the quizzes, it's that the teacher-provided description disappears. There is a specific assignment I am trying to access right now that is due tomorrow entitled "Graded_Ext Coursework_Multi_Two Kinds CR." (Courses > Multicultural Literature and C > Modules > Under "Instructional Cycle 1:Short Stories August 9 - September 10"; "Graded_Ext Coursework_Multi_Two Kinds CR") This assignment requires that I send in a Google Doc. What's happening though is that I cannot see the assignment description that tells me what to put on the google doc because it keeps hiding. This happens in all of my classes for every assignment, this is just the one that I really need to see. As far as using another browser, I'm on a school-provided Chromebook that only has access to Google Chrome. Is there some way, even if I'm on a school-provided computer, that I can show a screencast of what happens?

Thanks for letting me know. My school computer and account settings won't allow me to share Google Drive files with anyone outside of my organization and I can't see any other way to attach videos to the comment so I had to take the video out.

Hello, I'm a student that is having a problem seeing assignment descriptions. In all of my courses, I'm having a problem when I click on a quiz/test. The description that the teacher put in for the assignment shows for about a second, then disappears and only the "Start Quiz"/ "Start Assignment", "Next" and "Previous" buttons show, and if there is a rubric, it slides up. When I reload the page, it does the same thing - it shows the description for about a second and then it disappears. I've contacted all of the teachers and they don't know what's going on. One suggested checking here but I wasn't able to find anything in the help guides. I've visited my school's tech support site but they don't have anything about this. Thanks for the help, Michael A.

Hello @912721 ‌, I'm not sure exactly what the issue is. Are you having trouble uploading an assignment? Or, are you having trouble accessing your course work? I can't really provide helpful information at this point. Hello @haritste2029 ‌, In addition to the helpful information provided by @Chris_Hofer , you can view the number of points an assignment is worth by simply viewing the specific assignment through the "Assignments" tab. The different parts of an assignment listing is shown below: Each assignment displays the assignment name [1], any availability dates for the assignment [2], due date (if any) [3], and the number of points the assignment is worth [4]. However, note that you cannot view the points for an assignment that is not open for you to complete. More details about this below: The first dates you may see are called availability dates. Sometimes your instructor only wants you to submit an assignment during a specified date range, so the available dates are the range of time that the assignment is accessible to you. If the assignment does not have a date listed, the assignment is open; you can submit the assignment at any time during your course. If the assignment says Available until [date], you can submit the assignment until the specified date. If the assignment says Not Available Until [date], the assignment is locked until the specified date. If the assignment says Closed, the assignment cannot accept submissions. You can only view the points if the assignment: (1) does not have a date listed or (2) the assignment says Available until [date].
