Why are courses we add to Commons losing image links when they are copied to a course?

Can you clarify a bit? Are the images visible in the Commons, and then disappear only after copied, or are they already not visible within Commons?

Also, are you copying the whole course, or a page/quiz? If the latter, was the page/quiz created via the API (and so links to images may have been hard coded, and not been cleaned up by Canvas to adjust the references, add the "data-api-endpoint")?
