On Monday, I imported content from the Commons into my courses without issue.
On Wednesday, the content would import, but only partially. As you can see in the first screenshot, that is the full unit I need to import, but what comes over is in the second screenshot: only text headers, pages, and some assignments.
I tried deleting all of those assignments and copying the module from my sandbox on Wednesday, which worked, and I set up everything. However, on Thursday (today), the quizzes and assignments from that copied module are now gone and only one quiz remains.
I tried importing from Commons again, but the same issue occurs. 2 issues are raised with the import:
The first shouldn't matter, but I'm wondering if the second one could be the problem?
Hey @ValerieBurgoyne ,
Thank you for posting on the Instructure Community!
This is strange — however something that I will say is there are at times when I go to import something and resources and items in the modules specifically take an extra long time before everything actually shows up. However, in your case, it seems that Canvas wasn’t able to locate something called a vendor code, and it wasn’t able to successfully import all the resources in your course.
I do have an idea though, instead of utilizing Canvas commons, how about you do a traditional copy from your one course over to the other one? This can be done by clicking the three dots on the module or module item and clicking Copy To and typing in and selecting the course you want to copy the content to. You will need to have course editing permissions in both courses to make this work.
Do you think this would be a good solution for you for the time being? I don’t honestly know why it’s having a hard time importing your resource.
Hope this helps, all the best!
Noah
