Adjust all assignment and quiz dates on a single page

The Problem:

Managing dates one item at a time is tedious when you are planning an entire semester. This is true for new classes, but also for existing classes since the ability to globally adjust imported dates never works for the way my institution designs new semesters.

I would like a spreadsheet format that shows all date related events on one page. I could then set up all events and synchronize them where necessary. This could be an online form, or the ability to download a csv template and reupload the dates.

I have attached a simplified snapshot of this kind of spreadsheet.

This idea has been developed and deployed to Canvas

The Due Date Changer LTI looks like this for each course. I can ask the Developer how the LTI handles differential due dates.

 @ndp5 ‌ - I checked with the team that developed the LTI. It currently just sets the dates for the "everyone" field. That said, the ability to set/change dates for groups and sections is on their radar.

Thanks for the info. I think that setting/changing dates for groups and sections will help a lot, especially if it could be done using a spreadsheet. Please keep me informed if they make progress on this.

Ah yes, the voting system that makes lazy development OK. Please continue hiding behind that. Please do not fix things you know are f-d up until you are forced to by popular consensus. Most companies would take the opportunity to improve their product when 900 people have suggested it.

Since this is such a long thread, I'm sure Cidi_Labs has probably been mentioned here somewhere along the way but if your institution has DesignPLUS, you have access to the Due_Date_Modifier which one piece of the #Multi-Tool LTI. This tool allows you to edit all due dates on a single page. It also has a bulk update feature which is handy if you need to push due dates out or in a week for spring break, etc. It helps you to set due dates to pages so that they show up in your students' to-do lists and a Delayed Announcement Modifier was recently added, too, so that you can tweak those dates all in one place, too. Unfortunately, it does not currently help you to assign multiple due dates to a single piece of content.
