Always allow extra time for specific students (IEP, LEP, etc.)

This idea has been developed and deployed to Canvas

I know that we can go to a timed quiz and add on more time.

I would like to allow extra time for specific students not just for certain quizzes, but for ALL timed activities, since this is very often a part of a student's IEP. For example:

Quiz A: 10 minutes

Quiz B: 20 minutes

Quiz C: 15 minutes

Let's say that my IEP student Vernor Learner generally needs 15 extra minutes. I allow him the 15 minutes for ALL timed tasks, so he now gets 25, 35 and 30 minutes total on quizzes A, B and C, respectively. 

This just saves me the time of granting extra time for each task and lets me get it all done at the start of the semester.

This same concept could also be accommodated the same way that Moodle does it. Under the Moderation of each quiz you can give extra time or attempts to a Group (rather than individual students). Then create a group for the students that have time and a half accomodations, maybe name the group something like "Extra Time" or "Accomodations Group" or IEP students".

This way you dont have to go into each quiz every year and define the extra time and/or attempts for each indivdual student. You can just define the extra time for the group and at the beginning of the year you just go into your group and delete out last years students and add the new students. Easy and simple. The quizzes will all still retain the settings to allow extra time to any students in that group.

Maybe a quicker and easier way for this to be done is to move the "Time limit" option into the "Assign" section of the Quiz edit.

This idea was moved from Under Consideration stage (no longer in use) to the Product Radar stage.

I am a 504 homebound teacher and most of the students have extended time on their assignments, assessments and projects. It would be a great feature if the teacher could tag the student/s with extended time, no due dates, etc. Usually, I have to contact the teacher because the code expired or the assignment/assessment is closed. This means that I am at the mercy of the teacher and if the teacher doesn't respond in a timely manner, the student cannot move on causing the student to get further behind. Therefore, this would be a great feature to have in my opinion.
