[Attendance] Making Attendance Downloads a little less noisy
I have to present an attendance sheet at the end of every term. When we used Moodle, I used excel, because the Moodle gradebook is not at all intuitive. With our conversion to canvas, I decided to go all in on the gradebook and attendance. While I would prefer if the gradebook had a way to filter out graded discussions, that is a conversation for another day. But when I downloaded my attendance, I got a ton of useless information that took me several hours to condense into a simple list with my students running vertically down the first two columns and the dates across the second row, with their absences, presents, and lates put into the proper position on the grid.
I would propose a filter that would create a matrix as described above, a simplified gradebook without the extraneous information that detracts from the reason we take attendance: to find out who was there, who was not there, and who came in late.
