[Calendar] Parents booking appointments (Observers using the calendar scheduler)

At my school, parents are observers.

We're trying out different systems for parents evenings, including the Canvas scheduler.  

If parents could sign their children up for appointments for parents evenings, that would be a really useful feature.

It would be great if observers were allowed to sign up for appointment times designated by the instructor. This could work well for instructors who schedule office hours for parents and for conferences and other events where parent attendance is requested.

This is brilliant.  We're already using appointment groups for booking appointments, so having observers be able to do this will be game changing!  Thank you.  Any idea when this might move to production?
