Problem statement:

The Canvas search function for files will report hits, i.e., the files that match your search criteria, but not report the directory or folder in which the file is located. It would be helpful to have this function.

Proposed solution:

Having a file location listed could be very helpful.

While it is possible to search for a file by name, Canvas doesn't show you WHERE the file is (which folder, sub-folder, etc.) It would be super-helpful if it did.

An additional column on the page that shows what folder/subfolder the file is in.

Problem statement:

Currently, when a file is added to a module or a page in Canvas, there is no way to determine the file's location in the folder structure. Similarly, when using the search functionality in Files, the search results folder location is not displayed. This makes it challenging to identify where the file is stored without manually browsing through multiple folders.

Proposed solution:

Add the ability to view the file's folder location in the following ways: 1. Include the file's folder path in file details. 2. Make the file's folder location accessible through the three-dot menu option next to the files search result.
