There are several reasons for us to want to see the grade distribution statistics (min, max, mean, median, quartiles) for unposted grades, including for anonymous assignments. For the type of sample moderation (internal and external) that is common at British universities, we also like to see lists of students within each grade band, as well as the top and bottom scoring submissions. Of course, unposted grades (anonymous assignments) are not reflected in the Gradebook, which is understandable as it could de-anonymise the marks.
Provide a page listing marks of students next to the pseudonym (e.g. student 1), with ability to sort by the marks, on a per-assignment basis. This will protect anonymity while also serving the various needs of institutions, including sample-moderation and pre-release stats for Exam Boards.
