[Notifications] Assignment notification email for individual assignments

Problem statement:

I would like to be able to set a notification when students submit an assignment in just one assignment category. For example, I might only want a notification when students submit Essay # 1, not a notification that lumps together all assignments in one email forcing me to wade through a lot of other notifications that I may not want. My university previously used D2L Brightspace and we could easily do this. This is a total no-brainer and it's incredibly disappointing that such a simple and obvious feature isn't available in Canvas!

Proposed solution:

Add an option within each assignment/quiz/discussion to enable an email notification for just THAT assignment. Give the option for immediate notification or a daily digest, but make it for just THAT assignment itself.

Problem statement:

The notifications are great overall; however, I am getting unwanted notifications. I have quizzes enabled that have a due date, but the end date is extended so students can use those quizzes to study for the tests. Students can retake the quizzes an unlimited number of times. This results in a notification for each retake for each student when the quizzes are past the due date.

Proposed solution:

Will you add the ability to turn off notifications for specific assignments, please? Receiving an inordinate amount of notifications makes it difficult to get through email. These quizzes are automatically graded, so I do not need to receive a notification. If I set notifications to daily notifications, true notifications may get missed in the sea of quiz retakes.
