[Notifications] Use error message to give helpful information
I recently tried to send a message to my students through Canvas' messaging system. The message would not send and I got a notice saying 'invalid recipients'. I spent an hour on the phone trying to resolve this issue. I first spoke with my university's IT department and help desk, neither of whom could figure out why my 'recipients' were 'invalid'. The IT department transferred me to the Canvas support hotline. After being put on hold for a long time a support person for Canvas advised me that my message wouldn't send because my course was not 'published'. It would have been helpful for me to receive this information in the original error notice instead of the enigmatic 'invalid recipient' jargon.
