Leaders of school districts and school buildings are usually added to Canvas with Account level access. Normally, they are trying to locate a student (user), grades, assignments, and a course. However, when they open Admin tab it defaults to Courses tab which requires a click to People. When they search and locate the student, they don't get a pretty dashboard showing the current enrollments, past enrollments and grades. They have to use the tiny window for enrollments (which mixes current, past and future enrollments) into one long stream. They also don't have a way to quick see the current grades for the course or click on and drill into that grade book to view missing assignments.
Is there way for school leaders, who would have the permission and access, to have a better interface for viewing students course enrollments and grades for current, future, and past terms? Thanks for considering!
A simple solution could be to just add a filter button on the current interface for an admin to click and filter to active term, or past term. I would allow them to view multiple terms and published/unpublished. Some simple dropdowns or toggles should do the trick. I would suggest and interface that would display the course name, missing assignments and grades directly on the Poeple page. Per there could be a "Dashboard" or "Student insight" like page in the Admin tab if the current page is not able to handle these new requests.
