[Rubrics] Allow Both Checkboxes and Text Entry Criteria

Idea is currently in development

Problem statement:

Rubrics currently can only be created with either checkboxes or text. This restricts their function where an assessor may need to use checkboxes but also manually type feedback. This is especially relevant to VET users, as there are certain evidence requirements that could be manually typed if both features were enabled.

Proposed solution:

Enable checkbox criteria + written feedback in the one rubric - Assessors can then manually add the data points we need for VET (Unit Code, Student Name, Date)

User role(s):

instructor

Hi @AmyAshton -

With rubrics, instructors can use points with their ratings and leave a comment for that criteria. While point-based feedback has a score and a standard comment explains what the student demonstrates to earn the score, there is an option to add additional feedback manually!

This guide includes details on how to adjust Ratings.

How do I add a rubric in a course?

Would this process work for your instructors?

Hi @KristinL ,

Thank you for relaying.

The problem when adding comments to the rubric criterion is that the username of the commenter does not show, so would still need to add a comment underneath the rubric on the assignment regardless.

Further, with the required fields that must be represented for our evidence requirement (such as student ID numbers) it would be helpful to have text entry fields where the assessor could manually type the data that does not show on the speedgrader page.
