We recently had an instructor that was trying to provide feedback for their students using audio comments. Some students reported that they were unable to play the media. As a result, the instructor went back into SpeedGrader to see if the audio processed and instead saw the error message "Media is currently being converted, please try again".
After reaching out to support, there was no solution and the instructor lost over a half day of work. Support recommended that instructors stay on the page until the media is 100% ready to be played back.
We would like a feature where Canvas tells instructors explicitly to not navigate away from the page after recording any media until it's ready for playback to avoid losing all the work; maybe a banner at the top or a pop up warning.
