A Submitted Document Showed Not Submitted Later

On September 20th I submitted an assignment and had seen that it submitted and I saw no error. When a week went by I received an email about grading saying it was not submitted. I went to check on canvas because I remember submitting the assignment and it also showed as not submitted. Is there any record in the system that showed there was an error of submission?

We here in the Community wouldn't be able to check on the status of your assignment because we don't have access to your school's Canvas environment or any of your courses.  Have you reached out to your instructor to see if he/she has received your assignment?  Your instructor should be able to go to the assignment, look in the SpeedGrader (which is a tool that only instructors have access to...used for grading), and see if he/she can see your submission.

Chris_Hofer has give you the best advice, and your local team will be aware of any specific processes that they have implemented that might impact your chances of finding an original - everything that you submit as a file to Canvas should normally appear in your Canvas submitted files folder under your profile, assuming that your institution has configured this, so you could check in there.
