Hi All,
Before I begin, let me say that I have tried Safari, Firefox, and Chrome, and the issues still persist. In addition, I have been at my current position since 2014, and these issues are new to me.
In a course I am developing, I created several Assignment Groups: Topic Video Post, Topic Paper, Live Group Discussion, Module Quizzes, and Skill Demonstrations. All of these show perfectly on the Assignment navigation pane, and each assignment is properly assigned to the appropriate assignment group on the individual assignment page.
The problem is that when I try to add some assignments to the Modules page, some don’t appear at all, while others show some of the assignments, as depicted below:
Any suggestions...

Hi @sepvac,
Are the quizzes and/or discussions that you made: (1) set to be graded and (2) have points assigned to them?
If the quizzes and/or discussion that you made are not set to be graded and do not have points assigned to them, they will not appear in the "Assignments" area of the course.

I am sorry, @sepvac, but I do not understand what you mean when you say "so can I just switch with that proviso". Can you please clarify?
-Doug
On the dropdown inside the add item to module pop up, you should be able to select "Discussion", do you not have that option?
For me, the "discussion assignments" show only when discussion is selected.
I do...I found a workaround...Thanks for the reply! Appreciate it!
Hi @sepvac,
When in the "Modules" area of a course and attempting to add Canvas content to individual modules, when using the content type dropdown menu with "Assignments" selected you will see all content that is considered gradable and when "Discussions" is selected you will see all discussions whether they are gradable or not.
Have you set all of your "Discussions" to be gradable?
-Doug
Thanks for the reply! Appreciate it!
I have - Thanks for the reply! Appreciate it!
I'm with @dbrace on this one - for assessed 'stuff' to appear in assignments I believe that it has to be set to graded, even if this is complete/incomplete - a bit of an inconvenience.
On a related point locally we don't make the Quizzes and Discussions area directly available to students, as we want them to go through the Assignments link where other support content is presented....
Thanks for the reply—I appreciate it! Your idea about discussions and quizzes is interesting—I am discussing it with my department chair.
Can you say a bit more about the mechanics of implementing your suggestion? I am having trouble making quizzes and discussions visible in the Assignments nav link...

They have points and rubrics and are graded, so can I just switch with that proviso? Thanks for the prompt reply
