Assignment comments in Speedgrader

Hi all, 

I have the Manually Post Grades option selected. 

However, I am not sure if students can see the assignment comments while the grades are hidden? I understand the marks and comments in the rubric are hidden, but not sure if the assignment comments are also hidden. Does that makes sense?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello.  According to the Canvas Guide "How do I select a grade posting policy for an assignment," https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Instructor-Guide/How-do-I-select-a-grade-posting-policy-for-an-as..., students cannot see comments until the grades are posted.  I hope this helps.

Thanks for the response. I guess what was concerning me in that Canvas guide was the sentence - However, instructors can post comments to students before grades are entered. 

The concern is then when Submit is selected, even with manual posting policy, comments are posted to students.

If you find that the Guides are not clear, and you think some clarification could be made, the Canvas Documentation Team is always willing to get feedback from us.  For example, on the bottom of that Guide, there is a button to "Leave Feedback".  The Documentation Team will review your feedback to see if any improvements can be made to that Guide.  🙂
