Hi collective.
Is it possible for students to adjust their notifications so that they are alerted immediately that there is a new assignment?
It appears that students get a weekly email detailing new assignments, but i want immediately or, at the very least, daily.
I can't see a way that the student can change this as there's no mention of Assignments in the notification settings
Can the student change this?
Or can it be changed at the Admin level for every assignment for every student?
Thanks in advance.
John
Hi @JohnClear,
Looking at the Canvas Notifications - Instructure Community page, it seems notifications about new graded assignments are part of the Course Activities -> Due Date notification (which is, by default, weekly). Students should be able to change that on their own to daily or immediate (which can be delayed by up to an hour to prevent too many sequential emails about changes).
Hope this helps!

@JohnClear one option is to set the Notifications >> Course Activities >> Course Content to be Immediate. This setting sends a notification whenever page content, quiz content, or assignment content are changed, which should include posting.
Testing with a student that doesn't seem to be the case. When an assignment is changed - sure, but not when it is actually just created. I can't get it to post immediately at that time for a student.
