How to change a font in Pages, Discussion, etc.

Look for Format in the editing menu, then find Fonts. This will provide a limited selection of fonts you can directly select.

If you want to try something not on that list, you will have to use the HTML editor. First identify the font you want to use. Then go to the HTML Editor and find the text you want to change. It will likely look this:

<p>Sample text</p>

You will want to edit it to be:

<p style="font-family: ENTER FONT NAME;">Sample text</p> 

 Note that not all fonts may be recognized so try to stick to common web fonts. Custom fonts usually don't work well.

Great response time but both suggestions you sent do not work. Where is the "edit" menu? The only one I can find is clicking on my image but there is no "font". When I go into Subscriptions, there are options but none reference any "font".

Does your Rich Content Editor (RCE) in your "Pages", "Discussions", "Assignments", etc. content items look something like this?

The RCE interface should be the same for all of these areas.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "Subscriptions".  There is no "Subscriptions" option in the RCE.  Can you help to clarify things on your end?  Thanks!

How can I change the default order of fonts? In my case, I would like the "Arial" font to be the first choice on the page. Do you know how I can change this?

Hi there, @fabiodantas ...

Unfortunately, I do not know how to change the order of the font list displayed in the RCE (Rich Content Editor)  If there was a way to do this through modifying the back-end code of Canvas, I don't have that expertise.  I imagine that the Lato font is at the top because it is the default.

Sorry I don't have any other solutions for you at the moment.

Can you please provide a screenshot of what you are seeing? @Chris_Hofer shared a screenshot of the editing menu, including where fonts are located. This menu (the RCE...Rich Content Editor) is found on the very pages you mentioned wanting to edit and is the basic way to control the appearance of all content created on those pages. The HTML editor option is in the lower right corner below the area where you type your content on those pages.

As for subscriptions...that is where the screenshot can help. Like Chris, I'm confused what you are referring to.
