I've noticed that more and more often these little banner notifications appear when I do things in my course shells. Add a folder? "Folder created successfully." Delete an assignment? "Assignment deleted successfully." And my personal favorite, add an announcement and schedule it to post later? Get an immediate notification on my screen letting me know I have...scheduled the announcement to post later. (And don't worry, if I edit the announcement that is delayed I still get an immediate notification asking if I would like to send students a notification that an announcement they won't see for hours/days/weeks/months has been edited. Neato.)
I don't know why this bothers me so much, but it frankly makes me irate. There is no need for these notifications that I can determine. When I add a folder or delete an assignment group I know that the folder is added/assignment is deleted because I can see it. When I schedule an announcement to post at a later date, I know that it will post at a later date because I have scheduled it. I feel like these notifications were added with the assumption instructors are somehow completely oblivious to their own actions. (I would love to be a fly on the wall when Canvas folks are discussing which additions/deletions/revisions require a banner to alert the user that they have done what they have just done. There is no logic to this either as far as I can tell.)
So, is there a way to turn these off?

Hi there @KendallDinniene ,
If you're referencing the "banner" notifications as the ones in the picture I shared, then no, there's no direct way to disable these notifications.
While this can potentially be removed through using custom JavaScript / CSS, there's no direct feature within Canvas that lets you disable these as they are technically hard-coded in there and are intended to alert users when an action is completed, especially because sometimes it might seem like you did something but it didn't actually successfully complete the action you prompted due to basic glitches in the system.
Best,
Noah
