Cannot Enter Grades

The term is still open, the class has no "available until" or due date but the teacher cannot enter grades. I am an admin and can enter grades. Any ideas as to why they cannot?

Hi @LeilaBucher,

The couple things that come to my mind first are:

1. Does the section they are enrolled in have any dates associated with it?  It sounds like you looked at the course level dates/term, but the section could also override that.
2. Has the teacher's enrollment been concluded for some reason?  This could put the course in somewhat of a read-only state for them if that happened.

Let us know if either of these things end up being the problem.  If they are not, we might be able to some up with some additional ideas on what could be going on.

Is there a Grading Period associated with the course? The Term is different from the Grading Period, and a closed Grade Period will prevent instructors from entering grades but will allow Admins to do so (I think).

It's been a little while since we have heard from your on this topic. I hope that means you were able to find a solution! 

In the event that you are still needing assistance, take a look at the other replies on this topic, it seems to me that one of the suggested settings are likely your issue. Assignments in closed grading periods or section participation dates may be causing your issue.
