Canvas Teacher Crashing on MacOS 15.5

I'm relatively new to using Canvas, but I have been trying to use Canvas Teacher on my MacBook Pro M1 for giving comments to my students' recent assignments, which seems to be working well to exchange comments with them. However, when I use the "swipe gesture" to quickly switch between students' assignments, the app crashes routinely. I can swipe about once before it is likely to crash. I don't have a lot of other apps open to compete with system demands, so I'm sort of at a loss. This feature is helping me work more efficiently, but these crashes are counteracting the productivity gains I was hoping for.

Hi @JeffGustafson,

If you have a traditional desktop/laptop (like a Macbook), using Canvas within a web browser is going to generally be the way to go.  You'll notice that the apps are designed for iPhone/iPad, and while Apple has been trying to make those apps work on MacOS, I din't think it always works as well as Apple would hope.  I don't want to say that Instructure would never fix this, but I don't think MacOS is currently on the radar to be supported for the mobile apps.  The What are the browser and computer requirements for... - Instructure Community - 66 page currently says "The Canvas mobile apps require Android 8.0 or later and iOS 16.0 or later."

I know this may not be the info you wanted to hear, but it's pretty much the currently reality as I see it.  You can always contact Canvas support if you have access just to see if they say the same thing or not.
