Canvas assignments

I’m not sure why my CCS Grade 7 Math Unit 4 Interim isn’t showing up in the assignments for one of my classes, even though it's available in my other classes and I was able to publish it there. How can I add it back? Because it keep saying its deleted when i tried to redirect the assessment to canvas assignment. Thank you

Hi @ImeeTalaue,

Do you think you accidentally deleted it?

Try this:

1. go to the "Home" area of the course
2. the link for the website you are at will looking something like https://YOURINSTITUTION.instructure.com/courses/#####
3. after the series of numbers in the link, add (without quotes) "/undelete" so that the link looks like https://yourinstitution.instructure.com/courses/#####/undelete
4. see if the item appears in the link
5. if it does, click on the "restore" button

If it does not, I would recommend either getting in contact with your Canvas team or Canvas Support.

Does this take a certain amount of time? I just helped a teacher do this, and nothing happened except that the Assignmnets in question just disappeared from the /undelete list. Is there a cron job or something that does this every hour / day / whatever?

I do not have any exact answer for you but I do have a recommendation.

If an assignment was deleted and the assignment group that they were associated with before being deleted no longer exists, the assignment is "lost" when restored and does not appear in the "Assignments" area.

Go into the "Grades" area of the course and if there is a column for the assignment that was restored. If there is, click on the name of the assignment and the assignment should appear. Go into "Edit" mode for the assignment and change it to a different "Assignment Group" as described in the "Select Assignment Group" section of the  How do I add or edit details in an assignment? - Instructure Community - 971 support article.

Yes, that helps! It looks like she *also* deleted the Assignment Groups, which would explain why they didn't restore 😞 But, we *do* have all the missing grades in Beta (I've already exported them and emailed them to her), so it could be worse! 🙂

Hi There,

You can go to the undelete URL for the course. just add "/undelete" to the course url, it should look something like this:

https://my.instructure.instance.com/courses/123/undelete

You will see a list of items you can undelete there 🙂
