Canvas copy/export

Is there a way to download/export a complete copy of all course content, pages, quizzes/tests, original text in a format that can be opened/used later?  

Most specifically, any original text that I created for all pages, assignments, etc., as well as, all quizzes/tests that are useful or can be useful in other formats?

Downloading/exporting a quiz seems to always produce a copy that results in needing to be completely reformatted so that it can be printed.   In some cases it is simply easier to copy/paste the whole thing rather than downloading it.

This might not be a complete answer for you, but you can export your entire course as a *.imscc file.  Then, once that file has been downloaded, you can change the *.imscc file extension to a *.zip file.  Once you do that, unzip the *.zip file.  You'll find a folder called "web_resources" which will contain all the files from your "Files" area of your course.  Another folder, "wiki_content", will have all the course Pages and Assignments.  These should be HTML pages that you could view.  You can look through the other folders (some of which will have long strings of alpha-numeric folder names) to see what is there.  I wanted to pass along this information to you in case it would be helpful in some way.

Thanks for the help, but there still seems to be an issue possibly with the way it was exported.  From the home page I used the export course content option.  Upon downloading it already was in a zip file.  However, when opened it only had a "viewer" folder and and index file.  The viewer folder two .js files which were nothing more than code.  

Do you have any exporting suggestions that would provide the folders you mentioned?

Where are you seeing an option to export a course on the "Home" page?  I don't have that option in my own sandbox course, and I am a Canvas admin.  Did you try going through your course "Settings" screen...as described in the Guide that I provided to you yesterday?

 Here is a screenshot of our course home pages in which it is located at the top of the screen.  However, it doesn't, for some reason, provide the exact solution you described.  Following the directions you posted provided me with the exact outcome you posted about.  I was hoping that the home screen option was a short cut but was wrong.  

In the end, I downloaded the course and converted it to a zip file; received all the html copies of the pages that I needed along with attached assignments, videos, etc.  The only thing that I haven't been able to locate in this course download are the quizzes.  It appears that no quizzes were downloaded.

Hi @TPeeler 

The standard export format is really a package designed to be imported back into Canvas, or possibly another LMS.  It is not really designed to give you access to individual files and content outside of Canvas.
