Class Powerpoints Folder Locked in Student View

This is crazy. I have not locked or set opening dates for any of the ppts in the modules. I have not set any prerequisites for them. And yet, the students keep getting a message that the "Class Powerpoints folder is locked."

I would look in the Files area, which is where the PPTs are actually stored, to see if there are any restrictions set there.

I just learned how to fix this from my IT wizard on campus. I've been copying files from one semester to the next (for several semesters) rather than using a sandbox to store the files and then pulling from that. Of course I wish I had known, and I was probably encouraged to use the sandbox function when the university switched from D2L to Canvas, but I didn't take that step.

Now I've downloaded those ppts and uploaded them again, and they're no longer locked.
