Comment Notifications not working

I have my account settings to notify me by email if a student comments on an assignment submission. However, these notifications are not being sent/received, and comments by students on submissions are being missed as a result. Is this a bug within canvas? Is there any way to resolve this?

are you getting other notifications from Canvas (to verify you haven't been flagged)?  Have you set a specific set of notifications for that specific course (you can check by using the dropdown in the top of the notifications area)?
