Convert Question banks to Item Banks without migrating classic quizzes

Hello everyone,

I am in need of converting question banks into item banks. I used to create classic quizzes, migrate them,  and export them and then reimport them as item banks. However, the classic quizzes function has been disabled at my university and I am unable to create classic quizzes and migrate them any longer. Is there a way to convert question banks into item banks without creating classic quizzes? Thank you.

I'm the Canvas admin for a different institution, but it sounds like yours and mine may be closely aligned as we have disabled classic quiz creation here as well.

With that said, I'm wondering if you're trying to just migrant your few remaining question banks to item banks, or if you're still creating new question banks for some reason...

When you do a course import, you'll have the option to migrate to new quizzes, which as of a few months ago will also migrate all of your question banks over to item banks in the new course.  That's the way we handled a lot of our recent migrations (oru faculty usually import things for a new semester anyways).  That should work for a one-time migration if your admins can create another course for you.

If creating question banks is still in your workflow for some reason, let us know the reason and perhaps someone will be able to recommend a new workflow that solely relies on new quizzes/item banks.
