In Canvas we have encountered a problem with courses we loaded via SIS where many of them the course dates did not transfer to the sections tab of course settings. Upon investigation we did notice in some cases it was due to instructors in the UI, but many were untouched and there is no discernable difference between the course sections with dates and the ones without. We suspect we're doing something wrong somewhere, but cannot trace this back to a root cause.

Do you know if your SIS provesses uses CSV uploads, or makes an API connection to Canvas to populate things?
If your provesses se a CSV file, my initial advice would be to open the CSV file(s) to check the raw contents. Perhaps dates are malformed in some way, or absent completely. Depending what you find there, you could then continue more troubleshooting steps.
If your proceses use the API. you ould perhaps check if logs are created for debugging purposes. Maybe something is erroring out, but it's going to be very hard to figure that out without some kind of additional info.

We use CSV files from the Canvas SFTP which I have been through in detail trying to find something. There is apparently some things in the UI with Blueprint associations and enrollments that has effected some. The courses were all loaded with consistent data over a month ago and we are just noticing now that a little more than a 3rd of them do not have the dates in the sections tab which we need for an LTI. There does not seem to be something identifiable as the cause and the number is too large to believe instructors did something.
