Colleagues,
Perhaps we are not understanding this correctly. We have individuals whom we would like to have a custom account role with special permissions. So, we create that "role" under Account Roles. Great.
But we cannot find where to actually apply that role to a person. We can assign course level roles within courses. But not this custom Account Level role. We have looked everywhere for an option or setting. What are we missing?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Hi @RobertGibson,
Account roles are given by going to the Account Settings page -> Admin tab, and giving the user an admin (account) role there ( How do I add an admin to an account? - Instructure Community). If you intended the role to be added to certain courses only, you'd want to create a custom course role instead of a custom account role.
Hope this helps!

@glaviolette ...
I'm not sure if this would help or not, but have you tried clearing your browser history/cache, closing the browser, and then re-starting the browser to see if your new role appears in the list?
Thank you for this suggestion. 😀 Unfortunately it did not help. 😔
