I have had Desmos activities embedded into Canvas pages for a few years now. Last week, I found that when students try to join any of them, they receive an error that they do not have permission to access it (first attached image). This has never happened before.
Usually, students join without logging in. I've also tried logging in with Google and with Desmos through that embedded activity in Canvas, but those also receive an error message (albeit a different one -- second attached image).
I checked settings on the Desmos activity itself, and I have spoken with Desmos/Amplify Support to troubleshoot, but to no avail. The Join code is active, it allows students to join without signing in to Desmos.... All settings seem correct on the Desmos activity side.
Note: Students are able to use the activity when I provide them the link directly to Desmos; this is only no longer working with the embedded activities. However, I want students to stay IN Canvas, hence the embedding.
Has something changed on the Canvas side that might now be blocking or restricting access for students to join a Desmos activity? As I mentioned, this is a new issue that has not come up in the last few years. Is anyone else having this issue, or has found a resolution?

@AngelaGamboa or @CAMERONVANCE, have either of you reached out to your institution's technology support team for Canvas and other learning technologies? If not, have you reached out to Desmos Support?
If you have not done either, I would recommend that you go to https://help.desmos.com/hc/en-us/requests/new and submit a ticket.

I do not have direct experience with Desmos but I have a few tips when it comes to embedding content from an outside resource (especially when links to a resource exist and work):
What it sounds like is something is blocking the ability for Canvas to communicate with Desmos.
I am not sure if I or anyone else will have any other comments or suggestions but please reply back letting us know if that does or does not help you.

I have this same issue. It seems it is anytime a Desmos activity is embedded anywhere. I think it is a Desmos issue.

Our Canvas and tech support people don't know the issue - they don't believe anything has changed on their end.
I am currently working with Amplify Support (who run Desmos Activities -- interestingly, Desmos does not) to figure out what sort of recent change on their end may have caused this.
