Discussion Rubrics

I created a rubric for all discussions but how can students view them and instructors use them in grading when they do not post under the discussion like they do in assignments? What might I be missing?

You're not missing anything, actually.  The interface for locating attached rubrics to graded discussions is different than what you'd normally see for things like graded assignments in Canvas.  Here are the relevant Guides that you'll want to check out:
