Discussions link is absent on my Canvas screen

I do not have a "Discussion" link on the left side of my screen in Canvas, why is this?

Hi @SARAHSOLIE,

As you appear to be a student, the most likely explanation is that your teacher decided to remove the discussions menu form the course.  They may be using modules for navigation (which will guide you to specific content, including discussions, at the right moment), using a 3rd party tool for discussions, or just don't intend to have online discussions at all.
