Download/ Export Criteria Scores from Rubric

Is it possible to export/ download student scores for the criteria in a rubric? Teachers must show growth in certain domains in addition to an overall rubric score for writing. A spreadsheet of each student's data would make this possible through Canvas. Right now, we use the spreadsheet created by Goobric through Google Classroom.

A little late to the party, but I wanted to chime in that I developed a browser-based enhancement to solve this. Please see the Canvas - Enhancements page on the CU Boulder website for installation instructions, and look for the "Export Rubric Scores" enhancement for details.

The indirect answer is yes, but only IF every single criteria line in that rubric is an Outcome, which is another topic entirely. You can start reading about them here: How do I create an outcome for a course?   and continue on to the next pages, as prompted at the bottom.  Outcomes are, however, arguably more effective if they are used and shared across an entire account or sub-account in Canvas, since then an administrator can run reports on their end that show student scores for all outcomes used across all courses.  It may be something to discuss with your local Canvas administrator first, however, because at a course level it involves adding the outcome to a course and then adding an outcome to a rubric.  There is information from an administrator's perspective starting here: https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-12640-421487667 and continuing on for the next few pages.

I had to change the code to include

As it's obviously hosted differently at my high school. It may be worth updating the includes to be more generic such as https://*/gradebook/speed_grader?*

Thanks for scripts that you and/or others at CU boulder have made.  I have known about them for a while.

I just installed the export rubric score script on a different computer.  the include line of *.*instructure.com  needs to be just *.instructure.com for it to work for me.  I would think that *.*instructure would be fine, but evidently not.

Also, I only know how to use scripts - I can't write them yet.  But tampermonkey shows @include as being deprecated and that it should be @match.  either works, but I usually correct code where possible (just me not liking to see warning messages about code)

The GitHub link is available in the post below. There aren't any instructions which is a bit of an issue. What worked for me was to copy and paste the script I needed (Export Rubric Scores) into the Javascript Console. Exactly what I needed! (I was able to install the script with TamperMonkey but it didn't create the Export Rubric Scores button, in short it didn't work.)

I've made these changes, so you should be able to get the new script versions by clicking the Tampermonkey icon in your browser and selecting Utilities > Check for userscript updates. Thanks for developing and sharing these tools! Unfortunately, I'm having trouble getting the Import script to work. When I follow the instructions, the popup appears, I can select my spreadsheet, and (with no warnings) it let's me click "import". Nothing after that appears to happen except for a small message in the bottom left of the browser which reads "Importing rubric scores. Do not navigate from this page."

I have waited many minutes for a single import of 100 rubric items to resolve, but it never seems to finish.

Any suggestions? If there's a better place for me to bring this question about your code, please point me in that direction.

Thank you for posting this link. CU put the original OIT Canvas Enhancements page behind a login. I've been using your script for nearly two year with no issues, but today it will not export the rubric scores. I tried to have TamperMonkey update the script, but it doesn't seem to be working. I also tried the new Instructure Canvas LMS Mods (Basic), but the data that it retrieves for Rubrics is not as user-friendly as yours and doesn't even make use of available data labels within the Criteria...

I just used the CU Bolder script and the spreadsheet has all entries as "null". What could be the problem?

That happened to me with one of my assignment rubric downloads and it was because the instructor did not use the rubric - no criteria ratings were selected, hence no rubric points.
