Download all student responses in New Quizzes?

Hi everyone,

Is there a way to download all student responses for an assignment in New Quizzes?

We use student work and responses for our annual assessment review. This year, a lot of our assignments, quizzes, and exams have been built using New Quizzes. In order to gather the data necessary for evaluating whether our classes are meeting our program learning goals, we need to be able to download the student responses for review and analysis. 

A summary page is not sufficient for these reviews, as independent reviewers must be able to read and score the students' written responses.

• High Score [1]: displays highest percentage score
• Low Score [2]: displays lowest percentage score
• Mean Score [3]: displays average percentage score
• Standard Deviation [4]: represents the amount of variation from the mean score
• Mean Elapsed Time [5]: displays average time to complete quiz

Would you share a screenshot of where we click to download the csv file?

Did you just say I can't download the student responses? In New Quizzes? What the f**k? How can you not have that option? You should have a big banner on New Quizzes that says "Don't use this! You won't be able to do the things you need to do if you use it!"

Hi. I don't think this is a solution. The question was, Can all the individual responses--not summary statistics--be downloaded to a file? [Yes? No?]

So no. It looks like the answer to the question is no. You can’t do this obvious, simple, needed, and requested for 2 years feature. Does anyone have a yes answer?

What about the csv file where we get statistics on each answer choice? Is that available in New Quizzes?

Reviewing the data in Canvas is great. However, why is there not a way to download the data to Excel? This was available in the old quizzes. Additionally, we were "encouraged" to switch to the new quizzes. Then to find out that there is no download feature. Quiz and Survey data is used for ABET outcomes and "viewing" the data is not sufficient. Please provide as soon as possible.

I agree. This is ridiculous! New Quizzes is terrible! Don't use it! I used it this week and just discovered I can't download student responses. NEVER AGAIN!

I think the forum would be more satisfactory if there were a willingness to be forthright in answering questions. Oftentimes the real "answer" is "No. Canvas can't do that." But there seems to be a reluctance to admit that. Instead, no direct answer is given to the question--and sometimes the question is even declared "solved" when it isn't. I don't think that practice helps anyone.

We may need to "agree to disagree".  At least in my own experience as a fellow Community member and Canvas Coach, when I answer questions in this forum and the answer is "no", I try to be as transparent about that answer as possible.  And, if the answer is "no", if there are alternative ways (although sometimes not the most ideal or efficient) something can be accomplished, I'll try and provide that information in my response.  I know that many other folks here in the Community do this as well.

One of the nice things about the "Accept as Solution" button is that multiple responses can be marked as a solution.  In the previous version of the Community (pre- Summer 2000), it only allowed one response to be marked as "Correct".  So, in the current Community interface, more than one response can be marked as a solution ... if people think that those responses help to answer the question.  Of course, a response may have been mistakenly marked as a solution.  If you find this is the case, you should be able remove the green border around the response.  To do this, in the upper right corner of the person's response, you'll find a three-dot kebab icon.  A series of menu options will appear when you click on/hover over that icon.  Find the option for "Not the Solution".  This will remove the green border around the person's response.

At this point as far as I can tell, the answer is no: While new quizzes allows you to see a summary page, you cannot download a data set containing each student's un-summarized responses.

As I mentioned in my first response, if you feel that the reply from @igustafson isn't the solution to the original question, you're more than welcome to choose that "Not the Solution" option.
