Editing Peer Review

I'm wondering why we are unable to edit peer reviews. I recently had to submit a peer review on a discussion board, wrote part of the review, needed to go out of it to look at the question that were being answered and then was going to finish the review. Upon clicking "Save Comments" which to me indicates that we are saving it for later use, I was then told that I completed my review and was unable to go back in and edit it even though it was incomplete. Where my confusion is, why wouldn't we be able to go back in and edit it? Also, using the verbiage "Save Comments" is confusing as well as that indicates I'm saving it for later, where something like "Submit Comments" would tell me that I'm submitting and I can't go back in and edit them. Also, I only completed 1 of the 3 rubric grades that we needed and I was still able to submit even though it was incomplete. It seems like a flaw that the system would even be allowed to submitted even though it's not complete. If there are solutions to these issues, if you could please let me know, thank you.

Thank you for posting this.  This is exactly what I am in here researching as well.  If any of my students make a mistake or omission, it seems that they are unable to reaccess.  Last semester I tried to just reassign them to the person and it wouldn't let me do so as an instructor because it already shows them assigned.  Very frustrating for both students and instructors.  Please fix this!  One suggestion would be adding the same option as we have for other assignments which is an option to allow multiple submissions.

I also have this concern. I was filling out a peer review for one of my classmate's draft essay and after saving the comments, I realized I wanted to change some of my comments, but now I can't. I also realized that I completely missed scoring on one of the sections. So, now my classmate has an incorrect score and incomplete feedback. This needs to be fixed. It is not fair to me nor my classmate to receive incomplete feedback because it causes confusion when they submit their final draft. I wouldn't want them to miss points on their project because of Canvas' mishap.

I'm an instructor and many of my students have had this issue. There needs to be a distinction between "save" and "submit." Both should be an option. Instructors also should be able to unsubmit peer reviews if students accidentally submits it before finishing the rubric. As it stands, this design is counterintuitive and difficult to use.
