Embedded Google Slide Presentations creating multiple copies in Drive

When I click on a Google Slide presentation in Canvas it creates a copy of that slide presentation in my Drive. Has anyone experienced a similar issue and how can you prevent that from happening?

I have not experienced this, but how exactly is the google slide embedded? Can you share a screenshot of video showing this behavior?
