Exporting/Importing Gradebooks

I teach in Indiana and I have three sections of one class that I have to put grades in and they are all the same grades. I put them in one gradebook and then we were told we had to have them in all gradebooks. So I am using the export gradebook/import gradebook option. 

When I import grades from another class, it will continuously ask me to tell it what kind of assignment it is attached OR it asks for Bogus. It makes me do this everytime I do an import as we have to put in grades weekly. Is there a way:

1. To save what Ive imported before either attached to an assignment or selected it bogus before. 

2. Select all assignements and mark them bogus at once, I have about 130 assignments. 

What am I missing here with the Export, Import Process. I dont want to have to go and associate or tell Canvas that they are bogus everytime I export from one gradebook and import to the other gradebook.

@JonVernon I have found that it's simplest to include only the columns you want to change when importing a gradebook CSV. You can do it by deleting columns from an export of the complete gradebook or by exporting a current filtered view with only the relevant assignment in view. Columns A-E with student/enrollment identifiers are required. But after that, it's okay to delete every column you aren't working on. This should be especially helpful if you were starting with an export from one course & importing it into another (the assignment IDs differ between the courses, and that's probably why it finds so many bogus columns).

Another thing to consider is whether your import is intended to create a new assignment with grades or update grades for an existing assignment. If you're updating an assignment that already exists in three courses with identical enrollments, I'd recommend:

1. Open the gradebook in each course. Use the assignment search box to filter out irrelevant columns. Export the current view.
2. Enter the grades in one CSV (from what sounds like graded papers or an external system).
3. Copy the grades from that CSV to each of the others (or use VLOOKUP on user ID column values and select grades out of the CSV with grades for more certainty). Save changes to all three exports.
4. Import them into their source courses, and you should just get changes detected for the assignment you're focused on.
