I cannot get the fill in the blank questions to work. It keeps saying I need a blank. I have tried using the backticks, brackets, and _____. What am I doing wrong??

Here are the links to how to create fill in the blank questions for classic quizzes and for new quizzes.
Hi there, @Cheri_Hamilton ...
It looks like you're not using the proper character (backticks) for your fill-in-the-blank question. You are using the single quotes (to the left of your "Enter" key on your keyboard). The backticks character is located just to the left of the number 1 key at the top left of your keyboard. Here is some information on that character.
Notice how the backtick character is diagonal in shape...compared to the single quote which is vertical.
Instead of:
'Indian Removal Act'
Use this:
`Indian Removal Act`
Hope this helps!
Good afternoon, @JESSICAAPPEL ...
Are you using Classic Quizzes or New Quizzes for the fill-in-the-blank questions?

I am having the same problem- I am using new quizzes. I have tried all of the same options as above. Please help?
@Cheri_Hamilton ...
Would you be willing to share an example of a question you are creating in your New Quiz so we can help troubleshoot what might be going on?
Thanks!
I am attempting to help a client build an exam, but fill in the blanks does not seem to be working today...

Hi Chris - I'm using the correct back ticks (the ones you reference above) and still getting the "You must have a blank" error message. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks!
Hi there, @TBCarroll ...
I'd have to see an example of what you are working on to help...as Community members generally do not have access to your school's Canvas environment. Would you be able to share a screenshot or two so that we could help figure out what might be the issue?
Wouldn't you know it, when I went to replicate the error this morning, it works perfectly fine. 😅
I had tried it multiple times yesterday, searched for solutions, tried it again a couple of times, and finally gave up and moved on to a different task.
It worked on the first time this morning! So, false alarm! But thank you for your response!
