Hello!
I'm trying to export a filtered view of m grade book and it's not working. I've tried selecting the specific columns I want from the "Assignment Names" filter and using the "Assignment Groups" filter. It continues to export the entire grade book no matter which method of filtering I try. I'm using the most recent version of Google Chrome as my browser. Why won't it export the filtered view?
Thank you,
Angela Wilson
Hi @acmeek,
Although it's not explicitly stated in the How do I export grades in the Gradebook? - Instructure Community - 809 guide, I do believe the only filter-type thing that is reflected in an export is grading periods. Other than grading periods, I believe a gradebook export is always a full export of the course gradebook. I think your best option would be to do some filtering of the CSV in your spreadsheet program of choice after you download it.
I hope this helps, even if it's not the answer you wanted to hear.

Hi @acmeek,
I just went into one of my institution's Summer courses (it has 28 students in 2 different sections, 25 graded assignments, and 8 assignment groups).
I filtered it down to 2 assignments and 4 students and used the "Export Current Gradebook View" and the CSV file that I downloaded had only the items that I was expecting (I wish it exclude all of the assignment groups and the total scores at the end).
I also used the filter option to only see students in 1 section and 1 assignment group and the CSV file was what I was expecting.
If you are not experiencing that, I would recommend that you reach out to Canvas Support directly.
