Grade Notifications

Does anyone know if it's possible to set up a notification or alert trigger for a student when his or her grade falls below a certain percentage in a class? I know there are ways to target send messages to specific students in a given assignment, but this would be if the overall grade in a class fell below a certain mark, the student would get an alert. For example, Johnny was doing OK, but then after a few missed homeworks, his overall grade in history dropped below 70%, so he gets a notification stating just that.

I don't think there is anything like that build directly into Canvas right now.  There are some third-party integrations that might provide functionality similar to what you're looking for here, though most of them would have additional costs associated.   comes to mind here, but I have never used their product to know if it has this functionality.

Hi @psullivan14 -- As Chris mentioned, Grade Guardian from AspirEDU does have the ability to trigger emails to students based upon certain data elements we are retrieving from Canvas.  These messages look like they are coming from your school, not from us.  We can trigger these messages based on overall grade, # of missing assignments, # of zeroes, last course access date, and date of last submission -- or any combination of those data elements.  Feel free to message me here or visit our partner page if you'd like to learn more.
