Hide grade until Ss open the attached comments?

Is there any way to make it so that students can't see their grade on something they're submitted until they open the attached comments? Or something similar?  Asking for a friend (my teachers).  Simple yet creative solutions will get me giddy! :smileygrin:

Beth, I think this would be a neat feature idea! It would be great to encourage students to see the rubric (without points), annotated feedback, or written/recorded comments before revealing a grade, wouldn't it? That's where the learning and growth happens!

I agree that this would be helpful. I am in an online asynchronous setting and send students a message explaining how to access the gradebook comments most effectively after they submit their first assignment but sometimes it's clear that they still aren't reviewing the feedback.

This is such a great feature idea! A ton of my teachers are frustrated that they spend time commenting on students' work and it seems like students don't even look at the comments, which are essential for their future growth. This would be a hugely beneficial improvement!
