Recently the Home and End buttons no longer function when navigating Modules. I teach for three different districts, and the same loss of functionality has occurred at each of them, so the issue is with Canvas, not local to a particular school or district.
Please restore this function ASAP. It is something I use daily.

Hi @ayankee,
I just tested this for my instance, and I do see what you mean. When you load the modules page and try to click the home or end keys on the keyboard, nothing happens. However, if you click on any whitespace in the modules area first, the buttons then work as expected. I have a feeling it's related to now the HTML structure is coded behind the scenes (possibly to reduce cases of double scrollbars). It may not be the greatest, but would clicking somewhere to get the functionality back be at least a temporary workaround for you? I'd definitely suggest that you contact Canvas support if you can so they can create a ticket about this and pass it along to developers.
Hope this info helps!

Hello @ayankee - I just double checked courses I teach and I am not seeing Home nor End buttons within the Modules area. I do have the Home button on the course navigation menu, but that is different.
Would you be able to share a screen capture of these buttons? That will help me envision usage. Perhaps your institution added these buttons to your instance of Canvas?
Jeff:
Thanks for the quick reply. I was not referring to onscreen buttons, but rather the buttons on my computer keyboard.
@ayankee Got it. Perhaps the keyboard is locked to the F1 to F12 keys instead of the big icons on those buttons. You can toggle between the Function keys as default or the large icons on the buttons with the "Fn lock" toggle. On my laptop keyboard it's a little padlock icon on the ESC button: Press "Fn - ESC" and it will toggle and the home and end keys will work. Any luck?
Jeff: I tried your suggestion, and a few variations of it, with no change. FYI, the Home and End keys still function correctly in other programs (Excel, for instance) just not in the Canvas modules. Thanks, again, for being helpful.
Hi @ayankee - just as @Jeff_F mentioned, there are no built-in/Canvas-built Home or End buttons in Modules. I suspect they were created by someone at your institution, or from someone who created the content, and perhaps you received a copy of that content. It sounds like you may need to replace the Links on your Home and End buttons -- they may be linked to something else (another course, perhaps?)
Hildi:
I was referring to the Home and End buttons on my keyboard, not on-screen buttons. Thanks.

Chris: Clicking on the whitespace in the modules has no impact on the functionality of the Home and End buttons for me. Those buttons work correctly in other programs, BTW. The Page Up and Page Down buttons do work in the Canvas modules, so that's the workaround for me. I'd prefer to regain the functionality of the Home and End buttons, however, as I use them so much. I'll contact Canvas support, as suggested.
