How can I make an assignment due this term count for next term?

I have assignments due the day term ends. I don't want those assignments to count for third term; rather, I want it to be on fourth term's grades. If a student is absent I don't want them to get a 0, and I want to give students a chance to do late work. Is there a way to have an assignment due in one quarter but count in the next quarter? If not, can we get that option?

Hello @mofroerer,
Thank you for reaching out. Since your school district has terms and grading periods set up, then unfortunately there isn't a way to do this. Assignment grades are counted in the grading period that the due date falls under -- that is what determines which term it is. If you wanted to have an assignment be due this term, but counted for the next, then you would need to set up a separate assignment for which you put the grades in for the other assignment.
We are sorry for the inconvenience this may cause, but let us know if you have any other questions.
