Hi @JenniferLi58,
I am going to strongly recommend that you just recreate your syllabus in Canvas using the "rich content editor." Create headers for each section and copy and paste the paragraphs. (You may need to clear the formatting.)
I know it sounds tempting to think, "I just want to upload my document." However, these uploaded documents don't provide the best user experience for students, and you may end up with a host of accessibility issues.
Once you've done this once, you can import your syllabus into future Canvas courses and simply make modifications.
Hi @JenniferLi58,
You can refer to the two support articles below for (1) information about the Syllabus area as an instructor and (2) how to upload files when using the Rich Content Editor (RCE).
How do I use the Syllabus as an instructor? - Instructure Community - 638
How do I upload a document in the Rich Content Editor? - Instructure Community - 618233
Does that help you?
