How do you make assignments automatically grade?

Is there a way to make it so students receive the points for an assignment just for turning it in? So if it was a ten point assignment, they would get the ten points just for submitting it?

I know there is a way to override a grade in the gradebook, but that does it for everyone, regardless if they turned it in or not. I have considered making them quizzes, but they are submitting files, so that still has to go through speed grader.

I'm new to the teacher side of canvas, anything helps!

Howdy,

There is no way to do this by using a basic assignment. It must be a Quiz and a Survey specifically.

Surveys are the only thing that award points just for being submitted.
