I like designing tests in Canvas to save time on grading. How do I do to lock the browser or the screen in Canvas so the students can't go to others pages?
Solved! Go to Solution.
There is no built-in functionality to do this in Canvas. It requires 3rd-party secure testing/browser tools like Respondus LockDown Browser.

Are there cheaper options other than Respondus? I'm not sure my school can afford it, or enough teachers are interested in using it to justify the school making that sizeable investment.
There are several other secure browser products out there, but Respondus is the only one I have actually worked with.
It seems crazy that CANVAS has not developed this capability when Google classroom provides this for FREE! It might be a reason to drop CANVAS at the high school level and just go back to Google classroom. UGHHHH!! The cheating is rampant!
